How do I receive guaranteed entry to the 2010 ING NYC Marathon?
Be one of the first 100 runners who commits to raising $2,500 or more on behalf of Team Labrecque: Uniting Against Lung Cancer. We will provide guaranteed entry in return for your commitment and support.


How do I register to become a member of Team Labrecque?
To become a member of our team, just download the printable registration form and mail to Uniting Against Lung Cancer, 27 Union Square West, Suite 304, New York, NY 10003). You may also fax your form to 212 627 7594. After you have signed up and committed to raise $2,500 or more, we will email you with the next steps to complete the registration process.


How do I create my personal fundraising page to collect donations?
Once you have have been accepted as a member of Team Labrecque, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for setting up your personal fundraising page that will allow friends and family to contribute online. You will be able to personalize your page by inclduing a personal message, uploading a picture, setting you own fundraising goal and formatting your page layout and design.


What happens if I don't reach the fundraising minimum by the deadline?
You must donate or raise 1/2 of the $2,500 or more before September 10, 2010 to remain eligible for a guaranteed bib. The second 1/2 of the $2,500 is due by October 15, 2010.  If you do not raise the minimum by either date, you become personally responsible for the remaining balance Uniting Against Lung Cancer has the authority to charge your credit card in the event of a remaining balance.


If I drop out of the race, am I still responsible for raisng $2,500?
If you need to drop out of the race for any reason, you will be responsible for raising at least half of the $2,500 commitment ($1250). Any amount raised prior to your withdrawal from the race will carry over and count towards next year's fundraising minimum (for the 2011 ING NYC Marathon) if you choose to participate.


Are donations tax-deductible?
YES, all donations are tax-deductible. Uniting Against Lung Cancer is a 501c3 non-profit corporation. Race entry fees however are not tax deductible.



How do I get my friends and family to donate?
We recommend you start by sending an email to all of your friends and family. Provide the link to your personal fundraising page you created so they can donate directly towards your cause. If someone prefers to write a check, make sure the check is written out to "Uniting Against Lung Cancer" and contains your name in the memo field so we know who we should attribute the donation to. Mail any checks you receive in batches to us at 27 Union Square West, Suite 304, New York, NY 10003. We will add all check donations to your personal fundraising website so that all your donors are recognized and counted towards your fundraising goal.
